Agatha Christie’s Death on the Cards
Q: Can a ‘Social Faux Pas’ card be cancelled by a ‘Not So Fast, You Fiend’ card?
A: Yes. Anything but the Blackmail card can be cancelled by it.
Q: Can the ‘And Then There Was One’ card, where a player takes a revealed secret card, be used to steal the revealed Accomplice or Murderer secret cards from a player?
A: If you take either the Murderer or Accomplice cards then you must reveal them to all. The revealing of the Murderer card at any point means the game is won. If the Accomplice card is revealed at any point then that player is now knocked out of the game.
Q: Is the ‘card draft’ of the 3 face up cards on the table next to the draw pile included in where you can draw your cards from when refilling your hand?
A: Yes, you refill your hand from either the 3 face up cards (card draft) or the deck of face down cards (draw deck) to refill your hand. However it can only be from one, so if you needed more than 3 cards, it would need to come from the draw deck.
Q: If you play Satterthwaite and reveal the murderer do you then take the murderer card and then become that murderer?
A: No, because if you reveal the murderer card, then you've won the game by finding the murderer!
Q: If someone is in social disgrace do they still draw up to 6 cards if they have fewer (e.g. used Not So Fast cards)?
A: This is correct, in Social Disgrace, you can only draw one and discard one.
Q: Is there no way to get yourself out of Social Disgrace?
A: You need another player to get you out of Social Disgrace, as you’re unable to play cards like ‘And then There Was One More…’ yourself but reliant on others to play it and restore a Secret card to you.
Q: Are the rules available as PDF?
A: Yes, they can be found here.
Q: With the ‘Another Victim’ card, when a player takes a set from another player and places it in front of them during their turn, do they get to use the effect of that set?
A: The intention of the 'Another Victim' card is that the player using it, gets to steal a set (or card) from another player can then use it next turn if completed, or add cards to it next turn to complete it and so play the effect. You can play Detective Cards to complete other player's sets, but the player who has the cards in front of them, gets to apply the effect of the completed set.
